While we're somewhat sad to see that fewer newcomers will be en route each season, perhaps the silver lining here is that these characters will be better fleshed out and will arrive on time, something SF5 developers struggled with during the game's earliest chapters. This approach of growing the roster after a fighting game launch has become standard procedure for the genre, though it is worth pointing out that while Capcom made it a regular practice to release a whopping six characters each year for Street Fighter 5, that number has been cleaved down to just four.
